and people the world over decided to practice their religions in their own homes, and to stop with all the hate.
Oh well, April Fool’s makes one dream again.
But this is kind of funny. Hershey had a big chocolate factory in a town near Ottawa, Smiths Falls, that closed to much dismay in 2008. But all has been saved now, as it gets converted into a legal grow-op. Gosh but the government loves to be in the “sin” business, and they like a monopoly:
Smiths Falls celebrates Tweed’s medical marijuana license
Marijuana industry to bring 100 jobs to the former Hershey’s plant
CBC News Jan 29, 2014
The conversion of Smiths Falls’ old chocolate plant into a medical marijuana facility is “good news” that will create 100 new jobs, the town’s mayor said Wednesday.
Tweed Inc. will be distributing medical marijuana from the former Hershey’s plant as soon as the spring after Health Canada approved its license Tuesday to produce 15,000 kilograms a year.
The Ontario company is one of five suppliers that can produce, manufacture and distribute medical marijuana under a new regime. Prescribed amounts can only be purchased from licensed growers.
‘I’ve had nothing but positive comments.’– Smiths Falls Mayor Dennis Staples
What a sweet ending for the town. Maybe a chocolate factory will open up nearby someday …. brownie anyone?
i have spent on average, and this is an exact number, $106.67 annually, well except i had to round up all those sixes to a seven, on dope, in the last three years. and that is why the government hates pot. well, more than they hate booze, heroin, Paxil, or crack cocaine. they will never make any money on it. they can legalize it, and tax it, but the bottom line is that it is way too freaking easy to grow, so they can’t rape the shit out of it like they do by taxing booze and tobacco, or get a great big kickback for allowing Big Pharma to dope up our kids prenatal to grave with these new mind bender wonder drugs. and they know the truth – no one ever wrecked their life, or anyone elses for that matter, by smoking weed.
and as usual, i am so sorry for rambling.
No matter how much i read about it,… i just have never been able to get a good feel for Canada.
I think i flew into Canadian airspace one time, but i’ve never wandered around, met the girls, played the courses, ate the food, and generally gotten a feel for the culture.
I’ve been to 14.. 15? countries, but even from movies and t.v. i think i have a pretty good feel for a lot of countries (Australia for example) that i’ve never been to. But not Canada.
Grandma used to sometimes have Canada Dry cans of pop in her fridge when i was a little kid, i remember looking at those cans with the Canadian map on them and thinking “wow, Canada” way up north, kind of connecting America with the North Pole.
I think it’s cool that Canada is under HRH, and the real Canadian flag is super cool with it’s Royal Gold along side the red white and blue. And I am familiar with how the people of Canada fit in with the migrations of the 13 tribes, (Judah, Ephraim).
And lastly, it appears that about 100 people are now going to start growing dope in an abandoned candy bar factory. Man, what a range!! 🙂
Beware these 6 dangerous investing mantras
Here are some oft-repeated investing ‘rules’ that could cost you a fortune.
By Michael Sincere, MarketWatch
“buying on the dip during a bull market or when the market is in an uptrend can work, but if you buy on the dip during a downtrend or bear market, you could get slaughtered.
Even worse, some people buy on the dip while they are holding losing positions. Here’s a rule: Don’t ever buy additional shares of a losing stock, especially if it is still going down.
That losing stock is down for a reason, and adding more shares of a loser is ridiculous.”

Blatant criminal manipulation in the gold market from our Keynesian Overlords this morning.
Oh, wait. That move went UP!
Let’s call it Truth and Justice instead.
Was reading the wrong script there for a minute. Sorry.
Wait, wait, I found it (my desk is a mess).
Desperate short covering by our Criminal Keynesian Overlords!
Yeah, that’s the one.
The bottom is in, back up the truck before she zooms out of reach!
Speaking of bottoms-
DN – i have been to Canada a few times by car. we are not very different people. if you cross the border anywhere in the middle of the country, you would not know you left the USA except the jerks at the border make damn sure you know – both sides! once you have driven a ways you will notice a gradual difference in speech and maybe attitude. i have not been to Quebec by the way, nor to the far western provinces. but i get along really well with Canadians i have met so far – mostly Ontario residents. everyone i have met is also welcome to come to Wisconsin any time. even you Xty.
and speaking of black…
(turn it up to eleven)
🙂
Currently reading this 2 vol. work on one of my favorite subjects when lo and behold, I encountered DP’s totem.

yikes. i wonder what they did with the rest of my avian accoutrements.
i was doodling and drew a color version of one of my usual unsavory characters. i used to do these with ball point pen, but i’m getting better at it using a mouse. hard to explain, until you try it.
it’s warm enough to grill here comfortably, so i am. i need to get back in the swing of things. the glacier has receded now from my yard and i just need to rake up the debris moraine – mostly sticks and leaves that have been concentrated into an interesting serpentine shape as the snow and ice melted.
off i go to smoke a chicken in the Weber. if this art sucks, well let me see some of yours. see!
Locust tree-arrgh! Youngest daughter brought home a seedling from Arbor Day when she was in 1st grade and we planted it, hoping it would grow up to shade our patio (1994). It did. It also produces these damn beans- spent 5 hrs today raking and hand picking them. Yard work is only fun to a degree, not this degree, though.
“Many animals use this tree for cover, and cavities in Black Locust are good homes for birds and other animals, especially woodpeckers.”
oops, i lost the link now.
the chicken is delicious. i might eat the whole thing.
you can be the 39th to see this super cool vid 44, so hope you are still up.
very nice! thank you, old friend.
