For reasons I cannot really explain, I am a bird feeder and occasional bird photographer. I had a ‘hummingbird blind’ at the cottage, which consisted of a comfy chair, cup of coffee, sunglasses, book and camera, strategically located by the hummingbird feeder.
Without further ado, here are some bird photos from a few summers ago:
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg, let me tell you. Two more, just to show it wasn’t all hummingbirds:
I hope you are doing well. I miss your commentary. I also miss the hummingbirds. I
plant their favorite flowers every spring. One of these years I think I will instead follow them south and overwinter with them, wherever the warm place that they choose!
Well, I’ll be darned. A genuine comment from an old feathered friend.
Nice to hear from you, and I hope to get back to commentary, but probably here. The old haunt is toooooo depressing.
I have some new photos to add, but am in the process of migrating to my new computer, having spoiled myself on the happy occasion of my birthday.
I agree with what you said about the old hang-out.
You are going to be cold up there. Me too. But great weather for baking! The other E and I are going to render some leaf lard for some serious, old fashioned cooking and baking. An exchange of pig fat was the excuse for the face to face. So, if it’s really good, I will mix some up with seed for the birds!
Hey – we have those red finches through the winter – need to get a closer look at them to make sure though – pretty sure they are the raspberry ones. I have a resident cardinal now too. Such a loudmouth he is! He’s not single so I have no idea what he’s
always shouting about 🙂
Happy Birthday!
